    Screenshot of the MSNBC Website

This was the only national site I saw that announced Obama’s victory without a picture of him. I commend them for thinking outside the box. Successful web design must take into account differentiation from one’s competitors. This is my second favorite header photo. While the photo is not of Obama, it portrays a lot more than any picture of him in front of a flag could. This photo expresses the implications of the headline rather than reiterating the headline in picture form. The site did a good job overall. I do wonder how much Sprint paid for that add though.
